About Me

I was drawn into the field of occupational therapy because it was a medically recognized profession that emphasized a holistic approach to healthcare. I gained additional certifications in personal training and nutrition beyond my Master’s degree, and actively take mental health courses regarding patient care to hone my skills. The more knowledge I gain in order to help others, the more power I can bring into the goals we will be setting together.

When I moved to Los Angeles, CA alone to do my work here (amidst great weather!), my patients quickly became akin to a second family for me. I am absolutely passionate of building great rapports with my patients – I believe that trust, communication and empathy develops a strong therapeutic relationship and improved patient outcomes. If you need to to feel truly understood by someone – I’m here for you and take pride in that.

I named my practice “OT with Khanfitence”, because I noticed a common theme with all of my clients – from how we started out to where we ended up – and that was an increased sense of confidence. It’s my job to help you with your job – to take care of yourself, to handle whatever demands come your way, to live your life to it’s fullest – all while tackling any health obstacles you have to overcome. I’m sorry you are going through a health crisis and are in need of my services, but I promise that after working with me, you will gain a positive perspective on your situation, feel an improved sense of well-being and more in control of your life.

Let’s raise the trust in your abilities, together.

My Story

Growing up, I thought I was going to be an artist! I’ve always been very creative and have a unique style and approach to the way I live my life.

At the age of 14, I went through my lowest low and had a mental health crisis as a result of severe peer bullying in school. What helped me overcome my adolescent depression was recommitting my life’s purpose to mental health advocacy and helping those facing stigma – what gave me strength during those times was learning how to use my experiences to add to my purpose in life.

In high school, my father experienced multiple health issues and I was exposed to occupational therapy by a home healthcare provider that worked with him. As I looked into the profession and saw the variety of settings OTs could pursue, along with the balance of education in mental health, physiological courses and studying the human lifespan, I knew it was for me.

As an OT, I often have to use all the components of my medical background and be creative in my application of knowledge to ensure that the treatment plan I design for my patients considers all aspects of their life so we can reach their fullest potential together.

My additional knowledge in personal training, nutrition coaching and chronic disease management allows me to provide immense value to my patients and has allowed me to build a successful practice.

My Background

After graduating with my Master’s degree and becoming licensed and registered with the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists, I took the unconventional route of becoming a contracted therapist to provide my services to areas of high need throughout the states on a short-term basis.

I have worked in the states of Michigan, Texas and California. Graduating with my Master’s degree by the age of 22 proves my ability to be a quick learner, and I took full advantage of this gift and sought experience in a variety of settings, achieving mastery before moving onto the next setting.

As a result, I have worked in intensive care units, acute rehabilitation hospitals, a well-renowned hand rehabilitation clinic, various nursing homes, a government-based forensic psychiatric unit, a pediatric clinic and even in the school systems.

I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses with people from all walks of life. Along with chronic disease management and significant medical events such as stroke, TBIs, SCIs, MS, burns and amputations for adults,  I have also worked with children on the autism spectrum, CP, ADHD, and Down’s syndrome.

I truly believe that what allows me to be successful no matter who I work with is my undying desire for learning, my ability to retain information, but most importantly, my will to help someone achieve their goals, by putting in whatever effort it takes through updated research and trying my best to see the world from their perspective and connect the dots from there.

Don't wait any longer. Let me help you regain your life today!
